A consultation on affordable housing provision just over the north Shropshire border is under way.
Cheshire East Council, which serves Audlem, near Market Drayton, says it has taken steps to help boost the supply of affordable homes to meet local need.
It has now published two documents for public consultation aimed at delivering housing that meets local needs.
The first document, the draft Interim Affordable Housing Statement, puts in place a consistent approach to the council's requirements for affordable housing across the borough, requiring 30 per cent of new homes to be affordable on new developments.
The second document, Future Housing Provision, proposes the introduction of an interim planning policy to release land for housing development in order to maintain a sufficient supply of space for housing development over the next five years.
