Sky View glass roof revealed for Bugatti Chiron
French hypercar now available with two fixed glass panels in the roof, offering a brighter cabin and more headroom

Bugatti Chiron owners, are you afraid you’re not making the most of the glorious summer sun in your hardtop £2.5m luxury hypercar? Well, this latest option may just be the thing for you.
Introducing the Sky View glass roof — a new extra for the Chiron. It brings two independent glass panels to the roof, placed directly above each occupant, with each 65cm long and 44cm wide.
Designed to bring more sunlight into the cabin, the Sky View panels also bring the side effect of more headroom — 2.7cm, to be precise. The glass is also tinted to prevent dazzling occupants, as well as stopping mere mortals looking in from above.
Rigidity isn’t compromised here, though. The laminated structure of the glass means overall stiffness is maintained for the Chiron, along with its safety in the event of a crash.

No word on how much Sky View costs, but if you’re lucky enough to be able to afford yourself a Chiron then you can tick the option box for it from today.
Bugatti will be giving the roof a public debut at this year’s Monterey Car Week in California, taking place from August 16-28.
Anyone wanting to go a step further and take the roof off will have to wait a bit longer, with no official word yet on a drop-top variant of the Chiron. Don’t rule one out though, with its predecessor, the Bugatti Veyron, receiving a Grand Sport variant featuring a removable roof panel in 2009.
