DS Automobiles launches contactless payment car key
The key is available with the DS 3 Connected Chic supermini throughout September, and can be used to make contactless payments

DS Automobiles has released a car key that can be used to make contactless payments.
The special key is the first of its kind to be offered in the UK, and is available to be ordered with the DS 3 Connected Chic supermini throughout September.

The device relies on radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology, and can be used to buy goods and services up to a price of £30 at more than 490,000 locations across the UK.
A dedicated app will let people track their payments using their iPhone or Android smartphones.

Mark Blundell, UK marketing director at DS Automobiles UK, said; “At DS we’re always looking at how we can credibly complement our customers’ active lifestyles, where staying connected and being able to easily interact with the world is key.
“With the combination of connectivity features integrated into DS 3 Connected Chic models, and the ability to make those must-have purchases by using one integrated device – with the DS contactless payment car key, we really feel we have achieved this.”

Prices for the DS 3 Connected Chic start at £15,775. This specification includes standard equipment such as 17-inch alloys, automatic air conditioning, satellite navigation and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
