Jeep reveals 707bhp Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
Hugely powerful SUV takes the title as the world’s quickest SUV
Jeep has unveiled the most extreme version of its Grand Cherokee yet.
Called the Trackhawk, it has a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces an eye watering 707bhp, making it the most powerful SUV ever.
The performance figures are equally impressive with a 0-60mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 180mph.
As standard the Trackhawk comes with an all-new brembo braking system that allows the car to come to a dead stop from 60mph in 114 feet.
The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk also has 874Nm of of torque, meaning it is capable of towing weights up to 7,200 pounds, the equivalent of five dairy cows.
On the outside, the Trackhawk has a very aggressive stance with a muscular bodykit and dark titanium 20-inch alloy wheels. Bi-xenon lamps and various LED lights add to the sporty effect.
Thanks to a new low-temperature cooling system, when the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is traveling at speed, as much as 30,000 litres of air per minute can flow through the system.
Inside there is a choice of five driving modes, each calibrated to allow the car to cope with various weather and road conditions. These include auto, sport, track, tow and snow.
The cabin features a full leather interior available in a variety of colours including dark ruby red. An 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen adorns the centre console and features an array of menu options showing various timers and gauge readouts, just to remind the driver they’re in no ordinary Jeep.
This is also enhanced by a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel with paddleshifters attached.
Launch control is another standard feature for those wanting to take their super fast SUV onto a racing circuit.
There are 70 different safety and security features. One that stands out is the rear trailer hitch camera, which allows you to view any trailer being carried, while at speed.
Prices and a release date are yet to be announced.
