Ambulance crews attend to single casualty after car hits tree near Newport

A car left the road and hit a tree in an accident near Newport over the weekend.

The accident happened at Longford Road, Longford at around 11.40pm on Saturday.

A small saloon car left the road and hit a tree, heavily damaging the vehicle. West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service teams attended, and one person was left in the care of the ambulance crews.

The extent of any injuries is not yet known.

Fire crews from Newport, Telford Central and Wellington also attended the scene.
