The Market Drayton Macmillan Cancer Support Group puts on a Shrove Tuesday lunch every year, inviting members of the public into the Beacon Community Centre in the town to enjoy a variety of savoury and sweet pancakes.

The volunteers of the group served up their pancakes to members of the public.

The event has been a mainstay of the fundraising group's calendar for more than 15 years, and regularly attracts more than 100 attendees.

Last year the event raised more than £1,200 for the cancer support group.

Mayor Mark Whittle said: "It's good that it goes on, it is good to have more traditional local events going on in the town.

"They are really quite well-attended, the kids love it. It's nice to see it is well-supported."
