Lex Boycott, from Ketley, Telford, has climbed 1,335ft three times a day, which equates to climbing Snowdon each day at 3,560ft, and Everest each week at 29,030ft.

This is the third year the 47-year-old has taken on a challenge, after he attempted one million steps in 10 weeks in 2016 and climbed The Wrekin three times a day for eight weeks last year.

Lex started the challenge on June 4 and will finish it tomorrow, and has raised thousands for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Lex, who has lost three stone in weight in the past 12 weeks, said: "The support has been overwhelming, I've met quite a few people who have cancer themselves while doing the challenge.

"The summer we've had here is beautiful so I thought I'd put it to good use."

The contract project manage added: "I'm open to ideas for next year, but I'll get bored of The Wrekin eventually, but I would like to do something.

"But I won't stop going up The Wrekin altogether as when you get nice mornings it's beautiful up there."
