Edward Goddard, the chairman of County of Salop Steam Engine Society, said excitement is building ahead of the two-day rally.

Shrewsbury Steam Rally, a fixture in the county calendar, takes place at Onslow Park, Shrewsbury, on Sunday and Monday, August 27 and 28.

The organisers, the County of Salop Steam Engine Society, are busy preparing for the event, which this year will feature a celebration of the 75th anniversary of Land Rover – with a host of the unique vehicles and different uses on display.

Edward Goddard, the chairman of County of Salop Steam Engine Society, said preparations are well in hand for the two-day rally.

"We are getting very excited, it is getting very close now and we are looking forward to what will be a great show, as ever," he said.
