Shropshire Council has said that Severn Trent will be carrying out the work on Copthorne Road from March 8.

The work, which will see the company replacing a section of water main, will take place between Copthorne Park and Porthill Drive.

A spokesman for the council said: "The scheme is required as the existing water main has reached maximum capacity following the recent development which has taken place within the area.

"A new reinforced main will be installed with increased capacity which will improve water supply for existing and new customers."

Temporary traffic lights will be in place for the entire seven weeks, with a worker on site to manually control them between 7.30am and 9.30am and 4pm and 6pm.

The council said it would be checking the flow of traffic to identify if there are any problems.
