Half marathon places still up for grabs

Runners will have to be quick off the mark if they want a place in this year's rescheduled Shrewsbury Half Marathon.

The closed road race, which takes place next week, takes runners around the medieval town and out in to the countryside.

And less than 160 places remain.

With less than a fortnight to go, organisers have announced that On is the official sports brand for the event and also for the Shropshire Primary Schools Challenge which takes place the day before.

For all those signed up to #RunShrewsbury, it will be a huge bonus to have the presence of such a well-respected brand on race weekend. Runners will be able to learn more about what makes On so unique and try on shoes from their range of footwear.

On will also have a Run on Clouds arch at the start and finish of all the races, and will be supporting the pacers who will be helping runners to hit their target times in the half marathon.

Race director Joe Williams said: “We are thrilled to welcome On as official sports brand of the Shrewsbury Half Marathon. On is an innovative and exciting brand at the forefront of the running industry and it will be a privilege to have their support on race day. We hope that many runners will benefit from their products and expertise, wherever they are on their running journey. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the event."

Olly Laws, sales director at On, added: “At On, we like to put the fun into the run and we are excited to partner with Shrewsbury Half Marathon to help runners achieve their goals. We are delighted to be part of what promises to be such an inspirational day of running in such beautiful surroundings.”

Entry to the race costs £28/£30, plus a booking fee. All finishers receive a bespoke medal, technical t-shirt, goody bag, free pre and post-race massage, and free races photos worth £19.99.
