Jeremy Rodell, dialogue officer of Humanists UK, will be guest speaker at the meeting on Thursday at University Centre Shrewsbury in the Guildhall, Frankwell Quay.

Richard Burnham, of Shropshire Humanist Group, said: "Britain is currently going through what’s been called the biggest change in religion and belief landscape since the Reformation, 500 years ago."

He said more than half of the population now said they belong to no religion, while the figure for 18-24 year olds was now 71 per cent.

Anybody is welcome to attend the meeting, but voluntary donations are invited.
