Emergency operation to rescue horse
Specialist animal rescue firefighters were today helping to rescue a horse, stuck under a hedge.
The animal was found trapped this morning after falling into the hedge overnight in fields at Hengoed near Oswestry.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call for help at 9am and sent crews from Oswestry and Wellington, including firefighters trained in animal rescue.
A vet was also helping with the rescue, sedating the horse while fire crews decided the best way to lift it free from where it became caught.
