Boy, 17, offered money to get in van at Market Drayton

A 17-year-old boy has been approached by a man in a van who offered him money to get in.

Police are searching for the driver after the boy was approached on Monday between 4pm and 4.30pm in Farcroft Drive, Market Drayton.

Paul Roberts, organisational communications assistant for West Mercia Police, said: "Officers in Market Drayton have received a report of a 17-year-old boy being approached by a man driving a van, shortly after he got off a bus on Farcroft Drive on Monday.

"The incident is believed to have happened sometime between 4pm and 4.30pm, when the driver of a white van is understood to have offered the boy money if he got in the van with him.

"The man is described as white and speaking with a foreign accent and police attended and searched the area at the time."

Anybody with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 499s of September 18.
