The A53 will be closed from July 31 to September 3 in Tern Hill near Market Drayton for surface dressing.

Work will take place between the Lostford junction and the Tern Hill Roundabout.

It will include sweeping, lining and replacing the cat's eye retroreflective safety device in the road markings.

Specific details of when the road will be closed and the diversions are not yet known.

Meanwhile, motorists face further delays on the road when two-way traffic lights are installed to allow for work to take place on Longford No 1 Bridge on the outskirts of Market Drayton.

Work, which is expected to take place between July 17 and 26, will involve treating parapets, replacing a missing bolt to the north east parapet post base, removing vegetation from hard verges and parapet beams, and removing temporary wooden formwork from a safety barrier to all corners of the bridge.
