Burst pipe leaves Welshpool residents without water

Householders in Welshpool were left high and dry this morning following a burst water pipe which caused some homes to be without water.

The burst pipe was located near to the Lower Garth Meadows area of Welshpool this morning.

The fault caused water supplies to be cut or run at low pressure in properties in the SY21 area of the town.

Contractors from Severn Trent were called to the scene of the burst pipe.

The firm say the burst didn't causing any traffic issues, as the burst was discovered in a field.

A spokesman for the firm said: "This morning we have located a burst water pipe near Lower Garth Meadows in the SY21 area of Welshpool which may be causing water supplies to be off or at low pressure for some of our customers."
