Fundraiser launched for visitor attraction
A fundraiser has been launched to support a popular visitor attraction which has been unable to open due to lockdown.
Scotty's Donkeys and Animal Park at the Apley Estate at Norton, is one of those venues which has been forced to shut its doors due to the pandemic.
Now the park's biggest fan, three-year-old Zara Parrish, has inspired her mum to launch an online fundraiser to keep it going.
Zara's mother, Zoe, 45, said that she wanted to do what she could to help the park, and make sure it is still there after lockdown.
She said: "It is my daughter's favourite place in the universe and rather than buying a Shetland Pony, which could have problems of its own, I thought we could all do our bit as parents, grandparents, to help out.
"It is just about doing our bit to make sure these places that our kids love stay open and are there when life goes back to normal.
"We used to go there every fortnight, my daughter would move in there if she could. The people that run it are so lovely and friendly too and we just need to keep it going."
Tony Scott who runs the park said it had been a difficult period for the venue.
He said: "I did not want to do a Just Giving page. We did it on the first lockdown and raised quite a bit to keep us going but the thing is it keeps going when we have nothing coming in. The money just goes down and down."
