The Falcon Hotel, in St John's Street, is expanding its kitchen following growth in demand for its restaurant.

General manager Mark McNicol said the revamp would also create new jobs for chefs and kitchen staff.

The kitchen will close from 5pm on Sunday, and reopen for lunch on March 21, although the bar will continue to be open, serving hot drinks and cakes.

Mr McNicol said the Falcon was launching a new range of cream teas, and customers would be given a complimentary cream tea sample with each hot drink they purchased.

Alternatively, they could opt for a free sweet treat such as a chocolate brownie, he added.
