On Saturday up to 80 people will be enjoying the traditional haggis meal accompanied by live bagpipes.

Whiskey will be included for toasts, and people are being invited to bring tipples of their own for the evening.

Jackie Cooley, of Quatt Village Hall, said thy were leading the way by holding the event in 2009.

"It started because we had a lady that lived in the village who is from Glasgow," she said. "She's a big Burns fan and she used to do a Burns Night in her cottage in the village and we loved doing it. We thought it'd be really good to put it on at the village hall, and it was a success.

"There's a lot of interest in Burns Night in general. Quatt was one of the early ones to celebrate it, but you see a lot of them now.

"It's a good value night as well. It's £20 a head for a five course meal, as well as a piper and the poems and everything."

She said it has grown over the years, with people from across the West Midlands turning out to enjoy it.

"It's gotten bigger over the years. I think our first one was 40 people, now we have a limit of 80.

"We have had people who come to all 10, and we have a lot of Scottish people who live locally who come along because they miss Scotland.

"But the word gets out and we always get new people coming along. There's quite a lot of interest in Burns Night in general."

There are still a handful of tickets left. Anybody interested in attending should contact Jackie on 01746 781759.
