WATCH: Drone footage shows River Severn flooding near Shrewsbury

This drone footage shows the scene in one Shropshire village after the River Severn burst its banks.

River levels were rising rapidly across Shropshire and Mid Wales throughout the weekend and UAV pilot Rod MacBean captured this video at Atcham near Shrewsbury.

The River Severn swelled and flooded fields and footpaths alike throughout Shropshire after heavy rain on Sunday, and UAV pilot Rod MacBean captured this video at Atcham near Shrewsbury.

The footage shows the two crossings at Atcham, the historic bridge from 1774 and the modern A5 bridge, as well as the waterlogged farmland surrounding the village.

Six flood warnings remained in place along the River Severn on Monday morning, after the river burst its banks at numerous places across Shropshire and Mid Wales.

Parts of Shrewsbury, Ironbridge and Llanymynech were all flooded, with various roads, parks and car parks shut as a result.
