May he rest in peace. This postcard from the collection of Ray Farlow of Bridgnorth has no details apart from that it is a funeral in Prees of an RAF officer. However it may well be the funeral in the village in July 1921 of Flight-Officer Horace Norman Young, whose parents lived at Fairview, Prees, who drowned on leave when taking a dip in a river at Polebrook, Northamptonshire. He was a hero of the Great War, having won the Distinguished Flying Cross and bar (a second award of the DFC), and being severely wounded.
