Wards reopen after norovirus outbreak at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital
All wards which were closed due to the norovirus outbreak at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital have reopened.
Shrewsbury & Telford Hospital NHS Trust, which manages the hospital, said wards 27 and 28 are now open again, although some bays remain closed.
The trust confirmed five cases of norovirus – also known as the winter vomiting bug – last week.
Norovirus is a stomach bug that causes vomiting and diarrhoea, which goes away in about two days.
A ward at Welshpool Hospital has been closed down by norovirus.
