Secret Oswestry dieter Simon Hayman sheds five stones
When Simon Hayman saw his weight creep up to 19 stone he decided he had better do something to get fit.
The 24-year-old from Oswestry bought a treadmill to use at home, but when it was delivered he discovered he was over the 18-and-a-half stone safety weight limit.
He was so embarrassed he went on a secret diet and lost five stones in just eight months.
Now, with friends not recognising him, he says he is determined to keep the weight off.
"As a teenager I was always overweight but still an active sportsman," Simon said.
"But as I got less active I began to pile on the pounds.
"Reaching 19 stone was a huge wake-up call so I secretly decided to do something about it.
"I purchased a treadmill but I was cautious using it because I was over the weight limit it allowed."
Simon said he subscribed to the Diet Chef plan because he said he really did not know how to start shifting the weight.
"You are provided with a large variety of meals to choose from including breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinners. We placed an order online and soon received our first month's supply of food delivered to the door," he added. "It took some will power for the first couple of weeks but then I got into the regime and felt great about it.
"I was eating more meals a day than before I was dieting, they were just sensible portions and healthier.
"I can proudly say even with a week off while on holiday in the middle of it all, I have lost five stone.
And I still enjoy a beer, I haven't cut the drink out at all.
"The best thing about losing the weight is it is such a good feeling when you see friends or people you know that you haven't seen for a few weeks. It is the look on their faces," Simon said.
"They do a double take and some even have to check if it is really you."
