Young Farmers celebrating 70th anniversary with another competition success
Members of Whittington and Oswestry Youth Farmers Club have celebrated the group's 70th anniversary in style.
The club has won numerous competitions this year, the highlight being the recent success in a regional entertainment competition.
Performing the modernised Romeo and Juliet tribute 'Shakespeare takes his shirt off', the club won the Shropshire round in February and hit the West Midland area rounds with a bang.
The club won it for the first time ever, with members Stephen Evans and Beth Ellis also winning best actor and actress.
It proceeded to the southern finals where it was placed second, securing a place in the national finals in Blackpool and placing it in the top five clubs in the country.
The club will also hold a commemorative dinner dance to mark the group's 70th birthday at Oswestry Showground on June 27.
