Farming Talk: Members have more than just show discount
Membership of the West Midlands Agricultural Society comes at a great price and is packed with benefits – and not only at the Shropshire County Show on May 26!

Membership of the West Midlands Agricultural Society comes at a great price and is packed with benefits – and not only at the Shropshire County Show on May 26!
There is not much you can do for £20 nowadays, but this year membership allows entry to the Shropshire County Horse Show on May 19, the Shropshire County Show and the bonfire and fireworks in November.
Members will receive a card with a unique number which allows access to all three events and once they are inside the event there are more benefits for them.
Members receive dedicated forward parking at the county show and there will be a ringside pavilion for them to relax and meet up with friends and family.
Refreshments will be served along with lunch and a barbecue in the evening.
A children's supper will be served in the evening and a play area will be incorporated into the tent as well.
There will also be a band playing from 6.30pm to entertain after the end of the show and the licensed bar and beer festival will continue throughout the day.
Members of the society also receive a discount when hiring the 53-acre showground and pavilions and corporate membership and deals are available for seminars and meetings.
Annual membership is £20 for an adult, £45 for a family (two adults and two children), additional children aged 5 to 16 are £5 and under 5s are free.
Membership can be paid for by cheque made payable to S.W.M.A.S. and sent to The Agricultural Showground, Berwick Road, Shrewsbury, SY1 2PF
We are also hosting a pre-show supper on April 20 which I am organising in order to raise some funds for the society.
There will be a hog roast with licensed bar and a highly recommended band.
Numbers are limited and tickets are available from the show office. Tables of 10 cost £150.
