A dairy farmer's recent decision to cease milk production has resulted in the sale of a Shropshire farm with 58 acres of pastureland.

Shropshire agents Halls are selling Well House Farm, Marton, near Baschurch for owner Geoff Fletcher.

The farm, which has been a dairy holding for at least 25 years, is available in three lots or as a whole.

"This is a rare opportunity to acquire a farmhouse with 58 acres of south-facing pasture in a convenient but peaceful location, which is ideal for use as a small farm or equestrian property," said Shaun Jones, of Halls. "The lots can be adjusted to suit individual requirements."

The farmhouse, which has scope for modernisation and possible extension, is approached along a hardcored access to a yard, which leads past an attractive terraced garden feature with a brook running through it.

The ground floor accommodation comprises an entrance hall, study, sitting room with a solid fuel stove and sliding glazed doors to the rear, combined kitchen and breakfast room with a Coalbrookdale log burner and utility room. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom. The good-sized garden is mainly laid to lawn with shrub borders and a range of specimen trees.

To the side of the house there is a slabbed patio and a pasture paddock extending to just under half an acre. The farm buildings include a four bay Dutch barn and separate calf housing. There is also a concrete yard and former silage clamp.

The farmhouse, buildings and nearly 42 acres of land with a pond have a guide price of between £480,000 and £500,000.

Lot two, comprising eight acres of pastureland with a pond and road access, has a guide price of £35,000 to £40,000.

Lot three, comprising a 9.61 acre field with road frontage, has a guide price of £45,000 to £50,000.
