More than 1,000 entries of tractors, vehicles, farm machinery, plant and small tools are anticipated for the quarterly collective sale at Forton Airfield, Montford Bridge, near Shrewsbury on March 8.

Auctioneer Halls is introducing a series of changes to the 2007 programme of sales, the highlights of which are the creation of a warranted tractor section and a reduction in buyer's premium.

"The new warranted tractor section is designed to attract better quality entries to the sale and to increase buyer confidence, which should ultimately result in better prices," explained auctioneer Tom Jones.

"We have also recognised the need for a buyer's premium reduction and hope that our new tapered system will be welcomed and encourage owners to enter better quality items."

The popular sale, which attracts buyers and vendors from all over the country and even mainland Europe, is an ideal place to sell a wide range of items that are surplus to requirements.

Halls have reported a recent increase in heavy plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers, Bobcats and forklifts.

"This collective sale provides an ideal opportunity for farmers to liquidate machinery that they no longer use. This collective sale provides an ideal opportunity for farmers to liquidate machinery they no longer use," said Mr Jones.
