Make a pledge to fix a broken item this February – here’s how

Presteigne Repair and Share will be part of the ‘Fix It Feb’ initiative

Published

It was started by Repair Cafe Wales in 2025 as a way of promoting 'Repair before Replace'.

Presteigne Repair and Share will be at the Youth Centre in the town on Saturday, February 21 from 10am until 12noon promoting the project and mending items.

Fix It Feb asks people to make a pledge/commit to fix at least one broken item during the month of February..

This can be done in several ways by fixing it themselves, by asking someone else to help fix it, by taking it to a Repair event or a Men’s Shed.

They could also use the iFixIt site on line or You Tube to learn new fixing skills and check out RESTART UK for electronics

A spokesperson for Presteigne Repair and Share said: “We’re proud to support this initiative.  It’s a simple way to reduce waste and be kinder to the planet. Will you join us? Take the pledge today and fix something this February! Pledge Here: https://forms.gle/T5kt4Fk2WZGeQ12M8

Presteigne Repair and Share is just one of several in Powys supported by Repair Cafe Wales whilst others are independent.

“You can check out The Powys Green Guide for locations/dates in Powys of all Repair cafes in Powys as well as other projects which support a sustainable circular economy such as Library of Things.

Look under Community groups and the What's On section there is lots more to help towards a sustainable Powys.”
