Time to grit your teeth as cold weather returns again
The county is bracing itself for more cold weather this weekend and into next week, with the possibility of more snowfall.
And that means the gritters will be out in force across the region’s roads.
Temperatures reached highs of 6C yesterday, before dropping to around freezing at the coldest points today.
A showery start was expected for many parts of Shropshire this weekend, with dry spells and the occasional ray of sunshine at times. This was set to turn colder later today, with perhaps some wintriness developing during the evening and throughout the night.
Sunday is set to be mostly cloudy with sporadic showers throughout. A few flurries of snow is also possible, especially further south of the county and across the border into Wales.
Scattered snow and rain showers are also expected on Monday and Tuesday.
Strong easterly winds are set to make for a bitterly cold start to the week.
The Met Office has not issued any flood or weather warnings in Shropshire for the next five days, although that could change in the lead up to next weekend.
