Market Drayton firefighters in warning over controlled burning after call-out
Market Drayton firefighters have issued a warning to let them know about any planned controlled burning to avoid fire engines being sent out when not needed.
It comes after a crew was called to a fire near the Four Crosses Inn, Hinstock at about 8am today.
On arrival firefighters discovered that the fire was controlled burning carried out by builders.
A spokesmans from Market Drayton fire station has urged people to call them if a controlled burn is planned to avoid fire engines being sent out when not needed.
He said: "At 8am this morning the Market Drayton appliance, was mobilised to reports of a large fire in the open at the rear of the Four Crosses Public House near Hinstock.
"On arrival there was a large fire burning in an open area at the rear of the building.
"It was quickly established that this was controlled burning of waste materials, by builders who are on site to carry out demolition of the building.
"Advice was given and the appliance was soon available to attend further incidents if required.
