Telford college teams up with university to expand courses
New College Telford has signed a partnership with the University of Derby to provide an expansion to its courses.
The full-time Foundation Degree in Events Management will be available at New College Telford from this September, providing local people with a stepping stone to a career in international events.
The course will cover all aspects of devising and running successful events and will be offered as part of the college's new National Hotel School.
Students will have the opportunity to gain practical work experience at the Telford Whitehouse Hotel and work on projects set by employers.
Fiona O'Brien, acting principal at New College Telford, said: "We're delighted to have been successful in becoming a recognised partner of the University of Derby, which adds to our existing higher education and partnership with the University of Warwick.
"We're seeing more and more people want to stay local and enjoy all the benefits of a university education and we're proud to bring this exciting new course to the area."
The college is holding an open evening on Wednesday June 25.
