Children have celebrated the official opening of a new school following a £4 million merger.
Oakmeadow School in Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury, has come into being following the amalgamation of Oakland and Longmeadow schools.
Headteacher Huw Roberts said the opening ceremony was an opportunity for people living close to the site to view the school's new facilities at first-hand.
"Local residents have been very very tolerant during the building work," he said.
"We offered coffee, teas and biscuits for the local residents and gave them an opportunity to look around."
The opening ceremony took place at around 2pm yesterday, with children in the junior classes welcoming the infant classes through the new gate in Lythwood Road.
