Three days before an incident at the Travelodge in Shawbirch, John Murray, who is also known as Patrick McGinty, went on an aggression-fuelled drunken crawl of two pubs in Wellington town centre.

Murray, of Queen Street in Wellington, was charged with two counts of being drunk and disorderly for those and one count of assault, following an incident with a police officer.

Kidderminster Magistrates Court was told by the prosecution on Saturday that on November 10 last year Murray, who is aged 41, had become aggressive to other customers in The Raven pub.

PC Simon Webb attended the scene and Murray left The Raven, only to make a bee-line for The Boot Micropub close by.

There he became abusive to bar staff to such an extent that he refused to leave and the police were called. PC Webb then asked him to leave The Boot.
