Man who damaged police car at Telford hospital ordered to pay compensation

A man who damaged a police car's windscreen wipers at a hospital has been ordered to pay compensation.

Warren Smith, aged 49, committed the offence at Princess Royal Hospital in Telford on April 13 this year.

Smith, who is from Telford but of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at Kidderminster Magistrates Court to one count of criminal damage.

Magistrates ordered him to pay West Mercia Police £18.29 in compensation for the damaged windscreen wipers. He was given no further punishment due to the time he spent in custody from when he was arrested. No order for prosecution costs was made by the court.
