Police target hare coursing in south Shropshire after spike in reports

Police are "actively targeting" hare coursing in south Shropshire after an increase in reports.

West Mercia Police is working with landowners and farmers to target coursing, in which dogs are used to chase, catch and kill hares.

It comes after an increase in reports of coursing in Bishop's Castle and Chirbury.

Police are asking residents report any crime online at: westmercia.police.uk/report or call 999 if there is a crime in progress.

Anyone with information about hare coursing in Bishop's Castle and Chirbury is asked to email bccar.snt@westmercia.police.uk.
