Charlie Beddows, 20, pleaded guilty to being concerned with the supply of cannabis, cocaine and MDMA at a previous hearing.

Officers investigating dealing activity went to his Shrewsbury home on February 2 last year where some of the items were discovered.

Miss Catherine Ravenscroft, prosecuting, told the town's crown court: "A search warrant was executed at his home address.

"He was at the address at the time. In his bedroom the police seized a large bag of cannabis, small scales, green powder and a knuckle duster.

"A phone was also seized and later examined.

"He accepted that the cannabis and MDMA belonged to him for personal use."

At the hearing on Tuesday she said the phone had text messages relating to cocaine and MDMA and when the defendant was asked about the messages he gave a "no comment" reply to the officers.

Mr Paul Smith, mitigating, said the defendant was "grossly immature" and had been in the grip of drug use at the time of the offences.

Beddows, of Poynton Drive, Harlescott, was jailed for two years suspended for two years.

He must attend 30 activity days with probation. He was made subject to drug rehabilitation and alcohol treatment orders for six months and will be subject to a three-month curfew.

The court also ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs, equipment and the mobile phone. A further charge will lie on file.
