Woman, 19, left with 'life-threatening' injuries after being hit by car in Telford

A 19-year-old woman was left with life-threatening head injuries when she was hit by a car in Telford.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the woman was injured

Officers said the woman was hit by a blue Renault Clio in Arleston on Saturday night.

A spokesman for the force said: "At around 9.50pm on Saturday on Dawley Road, Arleston, a blue Renault Clio has been in a collision with a 19-year-old pedestrian.

"The Clio was travelling southbound towards Lawley from Arleston, the pedestrian has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with significant head injuries, which are believed to be life threatening.

"She remains in a serious condition."

Police added that the driver was uninjured.

The spokesman added: "We are keen for anyone with dash cam footage to submit this to us via Operation Snap on our website. If anyone has information regarding this incident or saw a pedestrian in the area at the time of the incident please contact the officer in charge PC Simon Measor on 07870 158597 quoting reference 683i 13 March."
