Victim disappears after alleged Shrewsbury attack and robbery
Police are searching for a man who disappeared after allegedly being attacked in Shrewsbury.
Officers responded to reports of a man being assaulted near The Woodman pub on Coton Hill at 12.35am today.
It is believed a crutch was used in the attack and that the suspect may also have had a bladed object.
Detective Inspector Scott Harris, the investigating officer from West Mercia Police, said that although a suspect was detained, the victim left the scene on foot and has not been located since.
He is described as a man in his 20s or 30s, with long dark hair, wearing a light-coloured coat. He may have been using a crutch.
A 32-year-old man from Shrewsbury was arrested on suspicion of robbery and assault and remained in police custody on Monday afternoon.
Detective Inspector Harris said: "A number of enquiries are ongoing but at this stage, the victim has not been identified or located and we would like to speak to him to check he is safe and well.
"If anyone witnessed the incident or has any information which may assist with our enquiries, please get in contact."
