Man charged with bike thefts in Shrewsbury

A man has been charged with theft after police recovered three stolen bicycles from an address in Shrewsbury.

Richard Musonza, 22, of no fixed abode, appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Saturday, after Shrewsbury CID, the north Local Policing Priority Team and local Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out a warrant at an address in Sundorne on Friday.

Three bikes were recovered which were found to have previously been stolen from Shrewsbury town centre.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and has been released under investigation.

The bikes have since been returned to their owners and police also thanked those who came forward and provided information.

DC Marv Choudhury said: "Information we receive from members of the public is really important to us and we're very grateful to those people who do come forward and would urge anyone who does have information about crime or suspected crime in their area to contact us."
