Stephen Griffiths, aged 67, of Mold, died following the collision between his blue Audi and a black Land Rover Discovery.

The accident happened on January 4 on the A458 between Cressage and Cound.

John William Beckett, aged 76, of Greyfriars Drive, Bromsgrove, was driving the Land Rover.

He faced a charge of causing death by driving without due care and attention when he appeared before Telford Magistrates Court yesterday.

He did not enter a plea and the case was sent to Shrewsbury Crown Court where he will next appear on October 2. Beckett was released on unconditional bail until the hearing.
