Shrewsbury police have released a picture of the man who is believed to have grabbed the opportunity when a customer drawing money absent-mindedly walked away from a cash point in Bicton Heath, leaving the money requested still in the machine.

PC Ingrid Tozer said: "Does anyone recognise this man? He is pictured at the Co-Operative store in Bicton Heath. Police need to speak to him.

"A male as described took an amount of cash from the cash machine at the Co-Op on Welshpool Road.

"A customer had drawn the cash walked away and on returning the male had stolen the cash and walked in to the Co-Op, not offering to hand it in.

"The money belonged to a young person who then reported it to police.

"We are asking for anyone who recognises the male to phone 101 or email ingrid.tozer@westmercia.pnn.police.uk," she added.
