Kev is full of beans at Shrewsbury coffee business
The art of roasting coffee is being perfected at a new business in Shrewsbury.

Kev Burrows is the man behind Iron & Fire Speciality Coffee Roaster, which is based at Castle Business Park.
Having relocated from Shifnal, the company supplies beans and grounds to businesses and the public.
It says it attracts the connoisseur who consider coffee with the same gravitas as a sommelier would treat wine.
Most of the work goes on behind closed doors but the business is open to the public on Saturdays between 10am and 2pm.
The roastery has invested in roasting machinery that allows the business to create interesting flavours from the carefully-selected beans. And the business is proud to produce coffee with a conscience; they are careful about how they source their coffees, not only based on quality and taste profile, but also their origins and accreditations.
Kev, who has been roasting speciality coffees for more than a decade said: “Coffee is more of an obsession than a vocation and we love everything about it – the industry, the people and, of course, the beans.
Passion
“We love working with our customers, most of whom we consider friends and we are always available to talk coffee to anyone who shares our passion or who would simply like to know where to start.
“The UK is becoming more of a coffee-loving nation every day and we love sharing our passion for coffee with businesses and customers in the local area.
“We are also moving to fully compostable packaging and also run a composting scheme.”
As well as roasting beans, the company is also holding free barista training for trade customers.
For the enthusiast, there will be introductory courses on offer where they can learn about the origins of coffee, put their sensory skills to the test tasting coffees from around the world and learn how to make the most of their coffee when they drink it at home.
