William Hague to open bottling works

Former Conservative party leader William Hague MP will be officially opening a new bottling line at one of Mid Wales' biggest employers.

Mr Hague, who last month confirmed he would be moving to Cyfronydd Hall near Llanfair Caereinion, will be visiting Radnor Hills Mineral Water in Knighton on Monday.

The visit will see Mr Hague, Leader of the House of Commons, open up the plant's new bottling line, which will enable it to increase production from 175 million bottles a year to 250 million.

Ahead of his visit Mr Hague said: "This is an outstanding example of a successful British business manufacturing a range of world-beating soft drinks employing talented local people and the best locally sourced produce."

William Watkins, managing director and founder of Radnor Hills said

said: "I'm absolutely delighted that William Hague will be opening our new plant. Radnor Hills currently produces over 175 million bottles a year employing 144 people and this new line will enable us to increase our capacity to 250 million."

Founded in 1988, Radnor Hills produces water and soft drinks for some of the leading supermarkets.
