Shropshire entrepreneur scoops national award
An entrepreneur today admitted she was "shaking" with shock after picking up a top award.
Human resources consultant Teresa Boughey won the Best Business Enabler category at the National Entrepreneur Awards, the UK's most prestigious honours ceremony dedicated to the growth of small businesses.
The Shifnal-based mother's company, Jungle HR, was awarded the accolade at a glittering ceremony held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
She said: "It was surreal to hear my name being called out at the classic 'and the winner is' moment of the awards ceremony and I was still shaking after receiving my award and getting back to my seat.
"It is a real honour to receive this accolade and true testimony to the effort put in by myself and my team to make a real difference to other businesses."
Jungle HR was set up by Ms Boughey in 2008.
She had previously worked for several large companies and now has a list of clients both local and nationally for whom she provides services including executive to excellence coaching, leadership development and business transformation.
Ms Boughey is a UK Female Entrepreneur Ambassador and represented the UK at the European SME (small and medium enterprises) summit in Brussels last year, as well as being an active member of Shropshire Chamber of Commerce.
Olympian cyclist Sir Chris Hoy was guest speaker at the high-profile ceremony and handing out the awards was impressionist Alistair McGowan, who paid tribute to the top 10 most impressive business owners in the UK.
