A fashion company run by Sadie Frost, whose family lives in Shropshire, has gone bust with debts of more than £3 million. Her fashion label, FrostFrench, has gone into administration and its owners have formed a new company to try to turn the business around.
Sadie, whose relatives live near Ludlow, has a number of A-list clients including Kate Moss, Helena Christensen, Leah Wood and Jerry Hall.
She formed the business with her friend, Jemima French, and they have now set up a new company, FrostFrench London Retail.
A spokesman said: "Sadie and Jemima were both absolutely devastated when they realised the company was heading into administration.
"They've put their heart and soul into FrostFrench for the past nine years so neither were prepared to go down without a fight.
"As a result they have set up a new company to invest in the label and to pay back some of the money they owe."
Sadie and Jemima, whose brand is famed for frilly knickers which are stocked in Debenhams stores, have had to close their flagship boutique in London's fashionable King's Road.
Their online site has also closed, although they are hoping to relaunch it next week.
The spokesman added: "Sadie and Jemima are looking forward to returning to the creative and business helm of the label."
FrostFrench was recently ordered to pay £5,000 in compensation to a former employee who accused them of racism. Aba Yankah claimed she was sacked after a day because of her race.
In October, their north London store was burgled and thieves made off with £10,000 of goods.
Sadie is best known for her long-term relationship with actor Jude Law.
