Llandrindod Wells Town Council may make up to three payments to members undertaking a senior role of an annual amount of £500, after it adaopted Determination 45 at a previous meeting.

At a recent meeting, town clerk Jane Johnston said: “A nomination process has now been introduced to protect any member nominated for this allowance without their prior knowledge.

“Any member nominated will be expected to declare an interest at the annual meeting when senior role allowances are discussed and leave the room.”

The closing date for nominations is May 12 and the forms have been issued to councillors.

The names of anyone nominated will be published on the annual meeting agenda and it will be subject to the council’s voting procedures.

Members noted the report.
