Fire crews called to open fires in Telford and South Shropshire - one on a public footway
Firefighters were called to two open fires in the region last night.
Crews worked to extinguish a large barrel that was being used as a brazier in Telford and two separate fires in Hopton Wafers near Cleobury Mortimer.
The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 7.43pm (February 7) reporting an incident on The Glebelands in Donnington Wood, Telford.
Firefighters from Telford Central Fire Station found a large barrel being used as a brazier, and alight on a public footway.
Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, and the incident concluded at 8.06pm.
Meanwhile, firefighters were called to a fire in the open in Hopton Wafers at around 7.41pm.
One fire crew was sent from Cleobury Mortimer to the scene.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera to tackle two separate fires that were approximately four metres square in size.
The incident concluded at 8.17pm.
