Rip-off builder's 'malicious exploitation' will 'not be tolerated' says council.
Rogue traders have been warned they will be pursued in the courts if they exploit Telford & Wrekin residents.
The comments, from Telford & Wrekin Council's Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Highways, Housing & Enforcement, Councillor Richard Overton, come after the authority's prosecution of Steven Bailey.
Bailey, 43, of Apley was the sole Director of a company SBS (Telford) Ltd which was dissolved in October 2024.
He was found guilty of multiple fraud charges and sentenced to five and a half years in prison and disqualified from being a company director for 11 years.
Bailey's criminal activities involved deceiving homeowners by misleading them about the progress of construction projects, including failing to deliver materials and leaving jobs incomplete.
