The incident, at Bridgnorth Recycling Centre, took place around 8am yesterday - Sunday, January 19.

The fire, in a skip used to house discarded electrical items, was put out by crews wearing breathing equipment and using hoses.

A re-inspection took place later in the day to check there was no prospect of the fire re-igniting.

Bridgnorth Fire Station shared images of the crews tackling the incident on social media.

An update from the station added: "Approx 0800 this morning we were alerted to large skip on fire  at the recycling centre.

"Crews located a large skip containing various electrical items involved in fire.

"Firefighters wearing BA were deployed and using Hosereel Jets controlled and extinguished the fire.

"A reinspection was conducted at 12:00 to ensure no hotspots or reigniting was present."

Thankfully there were no reports of injuries related to the incident, and some on social media used it to poke fun at Shropshire Council's controversial new booking system for recycling centres.

Replying to the fire station's post some queried whether they had 'booked a slot' to attend, and if they had managed to get the fire put out in the allotted 15 slot.
