'Repugnant' Shropshire fraudster who swindled woman out of more than £100,000 to face sentence
A “repugnant” fraudster who swindled a woman out of more than £100,000 will face sentence next year.
Simon Appleby, aged 39, was expected to face justice at Shrewsbury Crown Court today after previously admitting a charge of fraud by false representation.
However, his basis of plea is disputed by the Crown Prosecution Service, so a Newton hearing will be held on February 3 next year for a judge to decide if they accept his version of events.
