Illegal Telford driver found with axe in his car had it 'for chopping wood at dad's house'
A driver who has never had a full licence was caught behind the wheel with an axe in his car.
James Cope, who has previous for carrying weapons, was driving a Vauxhall Astra on the A442 in Telford when he was stopped by police on August 21 this year.
Telford Magistrates Court was told that the 43-year-old had an expired provisional licence and was driving on his own without L plates.
